We have done a total of five remodeling jobs in the last 15 years to a home we had built for us about 38 years ago. New Berlin, WI "The Design Process at Bartelt was a very enjoyable and throughly collaborative effort. I was involved in every step of the process, and my ideas and opinions were valued by the design team. Because of some medical problems and physical limitations, my remodeling project needed to carefully blend form and function. I had alot of very specific requirements, for example, a large barrier-free shower, counter heights that would work for both sitting down and standing up, and cabinet door hardware that was easy to use. Your designers were able to put all of these special features into a truly beautiful, yet workable design. In fact, they came to see it as a challenge, and even began to come up with accessibility ideas that I didn't think of! I felt that they were genuinely interested and excited about the prospect of changing the way I live. Your designers also made the process exceptionally easy for me. They met at my house and worked with my schedule. I was presented with several options and was able to pick and choose the best parts of each. When I wanted to add or change something, I never had to tell them twice - the change was there in the next version of the design. I never felt rushed into making decisions. Plus, the way the Bartelt process is structured, the designers were able to consult with carpenters, plumbers and other professionals on staff as we went along, to make sure that our ideas were workable. I originally chose Bartelt because I was impressed with their projects and their staff, but I was a little concerned because I tended to associate them with very big, expensive projects, and I was afraid that they might be out of reach financially or that I might feel intimidated. The truth is that Bartelt, simply believes in quality design and they will work within your budget to achieve that.
